We are four months into the year and there are still a lot of good games that have yet to release. Most of the games I put into this list are planned to release this year but that could change. Without any further delay, here are the 2021 games that I am most excited for.
Neo: The World Ends With You
I did not play The World Ends With You until I got my Nintendo Switch back in 2018. I was blown away but the game play as well as the amazing music. The story was really good and relatable. Like others I had wondered if they would ever make a sequel and that question was answered when they announced Neo: The World Ends With You. It honestly looks pretty good and it might be a preorder for me, but I don’t know yet.
This game will release on ps4 and Switch. I’ll include the trailer below. I would recommend playing The World Ends With You before playing the sequel as there are characters from the previous game that will appear and might confuse you.
Rune Factory 5
This is a game that I never thought would be made. The Rune Factory series was my introduction into the farming sim genre. If you liked Stardew Valley then you will enjoy this series. Plenty of towns folk to get to know, many plants to grow, as well as dungeons to explore. Rune Factory 4 released in 2012 and Rune Factory 4 Special released just last year. This game is for Switch only.
Shin Megami Tensei V
This is a game that I have been wanting for a long time. If you do not know, The Shin Megami Tensei series are RPG games and are the series that Persona is spun off of. The series goes back all the way to 1987. This series has always been good for me, I don’t think I have stumbled across one of there games that I have not liked.
I remember when this was first teased back in 2018. This game was the reason I bought a Switch and now the wait will soon be over. I believe that the have said it will release this year, but I would not be surprised if the release date got pushed back. This game is for Switch only.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition
I got into the Mass Effect series rather late, but I wish I had gotten into it sooner. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I found myself enjoying the trilogy. I think that from a visual standpoint ME3 was the best, but story wise ME2 was better. ME1 was alright but I hated the Mako. I look forward to re-experiencing the entire trilogy. This game will release for ps4, PC, and Xbox One.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl
I like many other people were waiting for whatever news would come from Nintendo on any potential remakes planned for Pokémon’s 25th anniversary. Then during the Pokémon Presents it was finally revealed. I’m excited to return back to the great region of Sinnoh. I will probably be getting Brilliant Diamond and will be picking Chimchar as my starter. This game is for Switch only.
Conclusion
Out of all the 2021 games that I listed, Shin Megami Tensei V has to be my most anticipated. As always thank you all for reading my posts and your continued support. Let me know what 2021 games you are looking forward to in the comments below. As usual you can keep up with me on Twitter @realgamerwithg1.

Apr 10, 2021 9:20 amI’m also excited for Mass Effect and Pokemon Gen 4 remakes! Also, I’m pretty pumped for New Pokemon Snap! I loved the original as a kid and can’t wait to go for a second round, with even more creatures to find!
