It’s that time of the year again for #LoveYourBacklogMonth. If you’re unfamiliar, this is an event made by Kim from Later Levels. As indicated from the title this post is about the games in my backlog. I have participated for a couple of years now.
A game you bought on release but haven’t yet started
Surprisingly this hasn’t happened to me in quite a bit. Usually when I buy a game at release, I stop playing the other games that I am playing and focus on the game that just released. Its definitely been a bit tougher to get games at release since I’ve had so many games in my backlog to get through. I usually put off getting some games until I can finish a few I’m playing.
The game most likely to never be played
Though I have a few games that I haven’t started yet, the only games that I can think of me most likely not playing is the Mega Man collection. It was definitely an impulse buy back when Mega Man 11 was releasing. It was a huge sale that included the first 6 games of the Mega Man series. I’m absolutely awful at the early Mega Man games. The The game from the X series I’ve completed is the first one, Mega Man X and the only one from the original series is Mega Man 11.
A game you haven’t played yet due to its intimidating difficulty
I don’t have a game that I haven’t played that I would consider intimidating, other than some of the Mega Man games. Since I already mentioned those I’ll mention a game I played for like 15 minutes. A bit ago I had a friend that bought Don’t Starve Together. I played with them for about 15 minutes and the game completely left my mind. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and how things worked. This is most likely the reason for me not playing many survival games. Perhaps sometime in the future I’ll take a look at it again.
An unplayed game with an intriguing story line or mechanic
The one game that comes to mind for this is 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim. I know some of the story, but not all of it. It’s definitely one where you have to pay attention since there are different characters and time travel, I believe. I know it has a lot of great reviews, but I’d like to clear up some more games before starting on it so I can devote the proper amount of time to it.
The most recent addition to your library
My most recent video game purchase was Persona 3 Reload. It was one of my most anticipated games of this year. I got the collector’s edition and I have been enjoying the game. The updated graphics and mechanics are great. I hope they do something similar for Persona 1 and Persona 2. I’d highly recommend it for anyone looking to get into the Persona series.
The game which has spent the most time on your backlog
The game that has spent the most time in my backlog is once again Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. If you read any of my previous love your backlog that I did then this will be familiar to you. This is a game that I am almost adamant will never be completed. It has been forever banished to the depths of my backlog doomed to be forgotten. I just can’t find the motivation to keep playing it.
Backlog
Conclusion
I think that wraps everything up. I think I listed every game in my backlog. More will definitely be added soon as I plan on getting Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. I’m unsure if I’ll get it on release though. If I missed one I’ll be sure to add it to the list. As always thanks for reading!

I haven’t played any of the Persona games myself, but I’ve been enjoying watching a friend stream Persona 3 Reload recently. It’s very different from anything I’d usually play so it’s been an interesting experience so far.
