Metaphor: ReFantazio Continues to be a Great Game

I’ve been heavily playing Metaphor: ReFantazio these past few weeks. This game is honestly close to being my favorite of this year.

The Characters

I’ve really liked the characters in Metaphor. I’d go as far to say that this group of characters is close to my favorite from an Atlus game. With the setting for the game and the differences with each character, they’re able to craft some good stories for each character. I’ll definitely be doing another play through so that I can get the full story for each character.

Combat

I’ve been really enjoying the combat. Swapping around the different party members has helped me discover some great combinations. For example one setup I have is using one character to make enemies weak to fire for one attack and using another character to attack all enemies with a fire skill. With the different skills from each character, you can really have a versatile approach to battles. Another thing that helps is being able to equip skills from one Archetype onto another. You’re free to experiment however you want, you can even have two characters equip the same Archetype.

Music and Environments

I’ve been a huge fan of this games soundtrack. It’s great and really matches the environment. I’ve put some of my favorite tracks from the OST.

I also like the design of the environments and the towns. I’ve really like the style of the game.

Conclusion

I would definitely recommend this game. I’ve enjoyed every minute that I’ve played. I hope that Atlus does more games like this in the future. Not necessarily in the same style, but completely new IPs that change up their usual formula a bit. If you’re unsure, I’d recommend giving the demo a try. If you decide you like it, your progress will carry over.As always thank you all for reading!

It’s definitely been a great experience. I’m hoping Atlus does more games like this that departs a bit from the usual formula
