Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin Demo Impressions

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin

The Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin demo was finally fixed and accessible. After finishing it I have some positives and negatives to discuss. I’ll start with everything that I enjoyed.

Positives

Jobs

One of the biggest positives is the job system. In the demo you have access to a total of six jobs. Three jobs are available after obtaining a weapon that is essential to that class. The other three are obtained through upgrading job skills. The three basic ones are Swordsman, Mage, and Lancer. The three other jobs are Warrior, Black Mage, and Dragoon.

Upgrading job skills

I mainly used the Swordsman class as the Mage class is pretty limited sometimes. Another thing I enjoyed about the job system was that you could switch between two jobs in the middle of battle. I assume there will be more jobs since this is just a demo.

Gear

Another positive of the demo is the gear. There is a great variety of gear that you can find and equip. Each piece of gear has a unique look to and some even have special attributes.

Good customization

Another good thing was that you can have different equipment picked out for each job. Then when you switch jobs your gear does as well. It’s too soon to be able to tell if you can level gear up in some way.

Music

The music that is in the demo is really good. The music during fights is enjoyable and made me want to pause the game just to listen to it. I look forward to the full soundtrack whenever the game releases fully. I think the music is one aspect of every Final Fantasy game that’s good.

Negatives

Graphics

I know this is a demo, but the graphics are pretty rough. There are some areas where my eyes started to hurt. Some parts of the environment were just kinda blurred. It’s hard to explain but I have a short video to show this.

Last area in demo

I know this is a demo, but I feel as though they should have developed the game more before releasing it. I also encountered some stutters in this final area as well.

Party Members

Currently the party members are a big negative right now. All you can do is use a potion to bring them back if they lose all their health. You can’t customize any equipment for them nor can you control them or give them orders. You don’t really have much information on them in general. I hope that in the future these things change and there is some kind of party management. I heard that there is a fourth party member, but I will remain skeptical until I see something official.

Conclusion

Overall I think that this game has a lot of potential. I definitely don’t think that this game is ready for release next year. I would push it back to 2023 just to make sure everything is good as can be. The demo had a survey that I provided my feedback to. If you own a ps5 and play the demo, please give them feedback.

As usual thank you all for reading as well as for your continued support. What do you think of Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin? Does it interest you?
