The Gamer with Glasses: 4 years of Blogging

Its now been about 4 years since I’ve started The Gamer with Glasses blog. It all started back in late 2020. It’s hard to believe that it’s been that long. What started as an assignment back in college has turned into quite the hobby.

Favorite Game of this Year

I’m a bit behind on the games that I’ve wanted to play this year. As an example, I just started playing Yakuza Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. From what I’ve finished from this year, I would have to say that Metaphor: ReFantazio has been my favorite. I really enjoyed this game. The characters and the voice acting were great as well as the different combinations you could have in battles. I really hope Atlus does more games like this in the future that depart from the normal settings they do.

If you’re curious about the demo you can read about my first impressions. If you’re interested on my thoughts after the demo content, I’ve got a post on that as well.

What Have I Been Playing?

Like I mentioned, I just started playing Yakuza Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. I’ve been having a lot of fun so far, especially with the whole Sujimon mini game. When that was introduced, I couldn’t stop laughing.

I also made some recent purchases since there were good game sales. One of the games I’ve purchased is Unicorn Overlord. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it and now was a good time to get it. I also bought Visions of Mana. This will be my second time playing a game from this series as I only recently heard of it. I played Trials of Mana back in 2022 and enjoyed it, so I’m looking forward to it.

What am I Looking Forward to Next Year

So far I’d say the biggest game I’m looking forward to next year is The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II. I played the first one earlier this year and thought it was great. I’ve been skipping any kind of videos as well as looking anything up for it since its been out since 2022, It just hadn’t been localized yet. Another game I’m looking forward to is Monster Hunter Wilds. I definitely need to play the demo first though.

What’s next for The Gamer With Glasses blog

There’s always a lot I want to do, but I feel like I never have enough time. I know that one thing I’ll probably end up doing soon are some more posts on the Sonic series. I recently wrote about Sonic Rush, but there are a couple more games I’d like to talk about. I’ve also got some older games in my backlog that I’d like to get to and maybe make some videos again. I sound like a broken record at this point with how often I’ve mentioned making videos again. If I do make videos I’ll most likely host them on my website first and then upload them to YouTube later. I honestly hate YouTube as a platform now, but recognize that there really aren’t any good alternatives.

Final Thoughts

Thank you to everyone for your continued support! It’s always great interacting with you all and seeing what you all thought of the games I talk about. What are some of the games you all are looking forward to next year and what has been your favorite game of this year? As always, thanks for reading!

Thank you! I’m pretty new to the series as well. My first game was Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Part of me wishes I had played the previous games first, but I’m still enjoying the most recent games
