2023 and 2024 Games I am Excited to Play

Hello again everyone! This post will be the first one since my return. I had originally planned on writing about something different, but there were some delays in what I ordered causing me to push that post back quite a bit. I’ll be talking about the games I’m looking forward to the most from now until early 2024.

Rain Code

This is the new IP created by the developers of the Danganronpa series. I enjoyed the Danganronpa series so much that I pre-ordered the game. The game released on the 30th, but since I got the collector’s edition I won’t get it until the 14th or a little after. I’ve included a trailer for most of the other games, but not for this one. I’ve avoided everything they’ve shown except for the initial trailer.

Rune Factory 3 Special

Some of you might not know, but I love the Rune Factory series. Rune Factory 3 is a bit special because it’s the first game I played in the series. When I saw it was getting a remaster, it was an instant pre-order for me.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

It should honestly come as no surprise that this game is on my list. I played both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man Miles Morales. It already looks great from the game play trailer that was shown. I’m definitely looking forward to how Insomniac will continue this story.

Eternights

I recently played the demo for Eternights and it left a good impression on me. The demo wasn’t too long, but I enjoyed the combat as well as the way they showed emotion on characters’ faces.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

I’m definitely excited for FFVII Rebirth. I think it was back in December of 2020 When I played Final Fantasy VII Remake. I had never played the original Final Fantasy VII, but decided to give it a try. That led me to buying and finishing FF7. I’m looking forward to where they decide to take the story from here. I’d avoid the trailer if you haven’t played FF7 remake.

Star Ocean: The Second Story R

I was surprised to see that this game was getting a remake. This was the first Star Ocean game that I played so this will definitely be a day one purchase for me. It’s already up for pre-order on the Square Enix Store. If you’re interested in the Collector’s Edition, it’s available to order as well.

Mortal Kombat 1

Some of you might not know this, but I enjoy a good fighting game every now and then. My most recent purchase was Street Fighter 6, which I am enjoying very much. It had been awhile since I played the Mortal Kombat series and jumped into 11 when it came out. Everything they’ve shown looks great so far and I’m looking forward to the release.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie

I first got into the Trails series back in late 2021. I saw the first Trails of Cold Steel game on sale and decided to try it out. In the next couple of months I made it through each Cold Steel game, enjoying each one. I’ve been waiting a bit on this one and am excited to play it.

Persona 3 Reload

I had been seeing a lot of rumors about a Persona 3 Remake. Personally I didn’t believe any rumors until a remake was officially announced. I am certainly looking forward to experiencing Persona 3 again. If there is a collector’s edition, I will definitely be getting it. I know the trailer says Xbox, but it will release on other systems.

Metaphor: ReFantazio

This was definitely a surprise announcement. It has been a long time since we last got any news on Project Re Fantasy. I honestly completely forgot all about. Imagine my surprise when I saw this trailer. I’m definitely excited for this game and it’s a day one purchase.

Conclusion

It feels good to be back blogging. This is my first video game focus post back. Everything is going well so far and I’m looking forward to continuing my writing.
