Introduction
It has been quite some time since my last post. I finally had the time to get back to blogging. In this post I’ll be listing 5 things from previous Pokémon games that I would like to see in Pokémon Scarlet/Violet.
Pokémon Contest
I’d really love to see the Pokémon contests return. When I played Omega Ruby I got super invested in them. This was mostly because they added a side story to it. I’d like for something similar to be included in Scarlet and Violet.
Legends Arceus Moves
One thing I would in Scarlet and Violet is the ability to swap out moves. It was interesting that they let you keep every move your Pokémon learns. I hate accidentally getting rid of a move and the only way to relearn it is by finding the move tutor. Being able to swap out the moves would make things so much better.
Legends Arceus Evolution Mechanic
This is a bit of a small change, but I actually liked it a lot. Instead of your Pokémon automatically starting the evolution process, in Arceus it tells you it can evolve and then you have to choose to evolve it. It would prevent people that don’t evolve Pokémon, because of certain moves learned at specific levels, from having to repeatedly cancel evolving.
Pokémon Replace HM Moves
One recent trend that I have enjoyed is not having to teach my Pokémon HM moves. As we all know HM moves take up a move slot and that can get annoying sometimes. Starting with Sun and Moon, there were designated Pokémon you could call on to get help for things like traversing water. This has been great because it gives players more flexibility with their teams, since they don’t have to get specific Pokémon to use HMs.
Pokémon Triathlon
If you played Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver, then you know exactly what I’m talking about. The triathlon was extremely fun and different from any of the other stuff that had been done. I want to see how the triathlon would look now.
Conclusion

Apr 23, 2022 4:52 pmI need to get back on the Pokemon wagon. I haven’t even purchased Arceus and with these systems, it makes me want to get back on even more! I loved not having to use a slot for HMs, but these other things like the evolution and move swapping sounds amazing!
I have mixed feelings about the Pokemon Contests, but I’m really happy to hear the opinion of someone who has invested in it. I’m glad you put those images of Pokemon Traithlon because I had no idea of that existence either.
…I guess I really just need to get back into Pokemon. XD
