Love Your Backlog Month 2023

Introduction

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m taking part in #LoveYourBacklog Month. This is an event made by Kim from Later Levels. I participated in this in 2021, not too long after I started blogging.

A game you’re eager to play, but haven’t yet started

One game that I’m eager to play, but haven’t started yet is Sonic Colors Ultimate. I haven’t played a Sonic game in years. I bought it when it was on sale in a store for like $10. The last game in the series that I played was Sonic Unleashed on the Xbox 360. I checked the release date and I feel super old. Sonic Unleashed released in 2008.

A game you’ve started several times but haven’t yet finished

That game would be Tokyo Xanadu eX+. I’m literally at the end of the game, but for some reason I just can’t get over the final hurdle. I keep starting and stopping, never finishing. I’m determined to finish it this month or in March.

The oldest game in terms of release date

In terms of release date, the oldest game in my backlog is Final Fantasy VIII. It released back in 1999, pretty sure everything I have was released after that. I bought it when it went on sale last year and haven’t gotten around to playing it yet. I definitely will at some point. I’d like to eventually finish all the Final Fantasy games.

The most recent addition to your library

I have several games to list under the most recent additions to my library. The last time I got games was around Christmas.

The game which has spent the most time on your backlog

The game that has spent the most time in my backlog is Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. If you read the first love your backlog that I did then this will be familiar to you. This is a game that I am almost adamant will never be completed. It has been forever banished to the depths of my backlog doomed to be forgotten.

The person responsible for you adding the most entries to your backlog, due to their good recommendations

There isn’t really one person that’s added to my backlog. There have been a multitude of recommendations from Twitter and fellow bloggers. Most of my backlog was built from them. Of course there are a few that I myself wanted, but most are recommendations.
